Ich bin Fotograf mit Sitz in München, ursprünglich aus dem Ruhrgebiet. Mit der Fotografie habe ich 1968 begonnen, damals mit einer Agfa Optima 200. Mein Vater hat früh meine Begeisterung für Technik und gute Bilder geweckt. Während meines Studiums legte ich mir meine erste Nikon-Ausrüstung zu – und damit war klar, dass mich das Fotografieren dauerhaft begleiten würde.

Ende der 1990er-Jahre bin ich auf die digitale Fotografie umgestiegen, was zu dieser Zeit nicht überall auf Zustimmung stieß. Meine Ausrüstung habe ich seither Schritt für Schritt weiterentwickelt – von Nikon über Fujifilm und Sony – immer im Einklang mit dem technologischen Fortschritt und dem, was für mich sinnvoll war. Seit 2022 arbeite ich mit einer Leica M11. Präzision und Qualität stehen für mich im Mittelpunkt, ebenso die bewusste, handwerkliche Auseinandersetzung mit jedem einzelnen Bild. Jede Aufnahme entsteht aus einer klaren Vorstellung heraus – „shoot and run“ spielt für mich keine Rolle mehr.

Meine Schwerpunkte liegen in der Fotografie von Menschen, Architektur und Landschaften. Ich fotografiere das Leben so, wie es mir begegnet: ehrlich, subjektiv und ohne Inszenierung. Meist unterwegs, reduziert auf das Wesentliche.

Mich interessieren die leisen Momente und die Spannung zwischen Licht und Schatten, zwischen Ordnung und Zufall. So entstehen Bilder, die zurückhaltend erzählen und dennoch neugierig machen.

I’m a photographer based in Munich, originally from Germany’s Ruhr region. I began photographing in 1968 with an Agfa Optima 200. My father sparked my early interest in technology and strong imagery. During my university years, I acquired my first Nikon kit—and from that moment on, photography became a lasting part of my life.

In the late 1990s, I transitioned to digital photography, a move that initially met with skepticism from some traditional photographers. Over time, I developed my equipment step by step—starting with Nikon, then moving on to Fujifilm and Sony—always guided by technological progress and what felt right for my work. Since 2022, I’ve been working with a Leica M11. Precision and quality are essential to me, as is the deliberate, hands-on process behind every photograph. Each image is carefully considered before it finds its way onto the SD card. “Shoot and run” is no longer part of my approach.

I take photos of people, architecture, and landscapes — preferably as life presents them: honest, subjective, and unposed. Often on the move, focused on what truly matters.

I’m drawn to quiet moments and to the tension between light and shadow, order and chance. The result is imagery that tells its stories subtly, yet invites curiosity.
